On Saturday, 24th February, new Heroes (and Sheroes!) will arise…
As part of our 25th Anniversary celebrations, we will be organising a trip to the Cinema for 25 Children & Young People to see the most talked-about film of the year: Marvel’s Black Panther
Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
Starring some of the most talent black actors working today – including Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett and Forest Whitaker – Black Panther is directed and co-written by Ryan Coogler, so there’s young black talent behind the scenes too.
The early reviews are in, and they are amazing! Black Panther not only promises to be a fantastic showcase of talent, but a chance for our children and young people to see themselves represented on the big screen in a positive, mainstream Superhero Movie! With Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time due to be released by Disney later this year, there’s even more to come!
Saturday 24th February 2018
The trip is open to children and young people aged 8-16. The movie is rated 12A, so written parental consent will be required for those under 12. Our limited group tickets will be available at a donation of £2 per child/young person. Additional/Parent/Guardian tickets will be at full price.
